In–Wall Powered Subwoofer

sub 250 In–Wall Powered Subwoofer250-watt amplifier & powered subwoofer reside in your wall to boost bass from stereo and home theater devices. The subwoofers’ amplifier turns on and off automatically when it senses audio signals from connected A/V components. With the included mounting bracket it is expandable to adjust to any installation

Enjoying room-filling, thundering bass from your home theater and stereo doesn’t require installing a large, bulky subwoofer. The BassX W10 in-wall 250-Watt powered subwoofer remains completely recessed in the wall behind a flush-mounted grille, and the included 250-watt remote amplifier turns on and off automatically by sensing audio signals coming from your receiver or pre-amp through the input connections, so you don’t need to add another step to your movie-viewing or music-listening process.

What to buy for your home theatre

Posted on November 30th, 2005 in FAQ, default, installing by Erno, (Visited 6333 times)

Ben Greenway from another home theatre weblog has the following general guide lines for buying new equipment for your home theatre.

Displays: One thing any potential FPD/Projector buyer should keep an eye out for. Digital inputs, be it HDMI and or DVI. Ben highly recommend´s buying a display with a digital input vs. one without. It’s rare to run across a display without a digital input these days, but they are out there and more often than not these sets are the ones you want to avoid.

DVD Players: Just as the CD hasn’t been replaced by SACD, standard definition DVD’s will be with us for years to come, and with them standard definition DVD players. Buy something that has a digital video connection. Sure it’s only a standard definition device, but that digital output will ensure the best picture quality and input compatibility with newer displays down the line.

Posted on November 28th, 2005 in Amp/receiver, DVD-players/recorders, Decoder, FAQ, Speakers, default, projector, television by Erno, (Visited 15012 times)

We are back at the end of 2005 ready for some great lists. Here is the list of Robert Silva at About.com. This is list of basic products.

1) Crowson Technology TES-100 Tactile Transducer - Product Of The Year 2005

If a subwoofer doesn’t provide enough "kick" for you, then add more fun to your home theater with the Crowson Technology TES-100 Tactile Transducer. Although subwoofers bring realistic bass sound to the home theater environment, there is still something missing - tactile sensation. The combination of the TES100 Transducer and A200 Amplifier enables one to turn his/her own chair into a home theater component that adds the sensory experience of touch to your viewing and listening enjoyment.

Denon Selects Universal Electronics

Posted on November 20th, 2005 in default by Erno, (Visited 4244 times)

universal electronics remote control kameleonMy former employer Universal Electronics was selected by Denon with the Kameleon Technology to Simplify Control for Demanding Audiophiles. It is similar project I have been working on with my collegue Greg in the past. It was a lot of fun to get the technology of Universal to operate the Denon equipment.

Universal Electronics has been selected to supply advanced remote controls for certain models of Denon’s high-end amplifiers and tuners to be distributed in the United States, Europe and Asia. The new remote controls will be powered by UEI’s Kameleon "digital ink"- like technology that intelligently illuminates only active device keys for a uniquely intuitive graphical control interface. The relationship marks a further integration of UEI’s technology with high-end consumer electronics partners in Asia.

With its industrial design team, UEI produced a new line of high-end remotes in collaboration with Denon which offer users an intuitive way to control Denon’s A/V receivers via easy-to-use key layouts, groupings and overall ergonomic design. The remotes also feature UEI technologies which allow for IR learning, direct code setup, and code verification. UEI’s Kameleon technology makes use of electro luminescent display technologies provided by UK-based Pelikon Ltd., the world leader in the development and application of printed segmented electro luminescent Interface Display technology (pSEL) for consumer products.
